With its engaging animals and number-grid terrain tiles that are fun to manipulate, Komodo fits well into educational settings.

We have developed a Lesson Plan to help teachers integrate the game into the mathematics curriculum for Level One and Level Two students (aged 5-10), where it can be used to teach and reinforce these skills:

  • Counting
  • Sorting
  • Addition and Subtraction
  • Forming Sets of 5s and 10s
  • Rotation of Plane Objects

Four children can share one game.

Children 10+ can play the regular competitive or cooperative game.  They will barely notice their spatial, numerical and strategic planning skills getting a workout.  Consult the directions for how to play.  These 90-second videos that explain how to set up and play may also be helpful:
